We received two very generous donations last month which enabled the redecoration of the choir vestry, servers’ vestry, clergy vestry and the corridor in between. The difference this has made to these spaces is fantastic and we give thanks to God for such a gift.
We are pleased to welcome 2 new tenants to the Parish Centre – a local small business and a local charity called Shine On.
“Established in 1992 Shine On is proud to be an established part of the community, helping older vulnerable people to live independently. Our positive impact is thanks to the help of our dedicated volunteers, staff and the people we support in the local community. At the heart of charity lies our ability develop core projects in response to listening to vulnerable people living in Newcastle upon Tyne.”
A fantastic £318 was raised at the Christingle Service in February for the Children’s Society. Thanks to everyone who donated towards this amount. The most recent gardening day was a huge success with lots cleared out of the church and parish centre garden to refresh the areas in time for spring. I have already spotted the reappearance of the Friends of St Gabriel’s daffodils and the crocuses on the front lawn!
The regular Missions cake stall continues to be popular raising money for the Missions group to distribute to local, national and international charities and causes.
