Giving

At St. Gabriel’s we acknowledge that the greatest gift that any of us can give is ourselves. We believe that each and every human being is equally important to God, and as we are all unique, we each have different gifts and talents to offer. As a church we are keen to develop the vocation of all people, to be the people God made us to be. As such we are concerned that all develop their talents as they feel called to do, and that the church in this place grows into what God has called it to be. If there are ways you would like to give of yourself, time and talents, do speak to Jonathan or one of the churchwardens.

As Christians we believe that everything is a gift from God, including our financial resources. St. Gabriel’s costs about £140,000 a year to continue its work and to maintain the buildings we have. The majority of this money comes from giving from the congregation and visitors. The charts below outline our income and expenditure. They show how 65% of our annual income is from voluntary giving and the Gift Aid that we claim back from that.

As a congregation we also give over £5000 to different charities each year mostly through the Missions Committee. More information on this can be found here: http://www.stgabrielschurch.co.uk/missions-committee

We understand that the current situation and national uncertainty has caused financial and employment difficulties for many. However, we would ask people to consider if they are in a position to donate to St Gabriel’s to assist with the ongoing running costs. If you would like more information on this please speak to Jonathan or Robin or Corinne.
We would like to thank everyone who supports the work of St Gabriel’s in many different ways.
